Audi with the new face

The Audi 920 was the top development and product launch of the Auto Union before the production of civil cars came to its end.It was expensive but buyers were excited by its shape and performance. Unfortunately WW 2 has stopped manufacturing of this very promising car and only a few of them have survived

The big Horch‘s were amongst the top products of the German Automobile Industry, definitely the number one in terms of sale of luxury cars.
The straight eight with overhead camshaft has already been introduced before the merger and was manufactured up to the end of civil car production with several modifications

Horch has brought the model 750  to the “wedding” – here as an Open Tourer, one of two known survivors

Auto Union during World War 2 and it’s preparation

During the historically short existence of the Auto Union it received frequently orders from the Reichswehr and the Wehrmacht.
The war was the reason for the end of the manufacturing of civil cars and at the end of the Auto Union as well.
It was the reason that the number of military vehicles manufactured by the Auto Union was bigger than that of all civil motor cars.

We want to introduce just two examples wearing the modified well known V 8 engine…

KFZ 15 – Military Staff Transporter and

KFZ 17 – Radio Car

It usually will not fit to the Auto Union theme but last but not least very important for our home town Wurzen is the exhibited Polymobil.

It is in very original condition but ready to run and was the first motor car in Wurzen
The manufacturer were the Polyphon – Musikwerke in Leipzig. Leipzig was the world centre of manufacturers of mechanical music instruments at the beginning of the last century. Polyphon, one of the big three started manufacturing of cars first with the name Polymobil and later as DUX.

Polymobil 1904

We are very glad to introduce some new “members of our family”.

One of the very few survivors Horch 670 found its way from California to Wurzen and can be seen at Zündmagnet now.

The only known Horch 500 B with 4 door Glaser-Sedan-Convertible body is part of the exhibition now. After some service measures we will bring it back to the road in 2023.

The following clips illustrate that we really move our vehicles.
